Thursday, July 11th - Dinner at Mr. Shui's Brother's Restaurant
 |
Mr. Shui is not only a Tai Chi master, but is also in charge of the canteen at the college where we ate lunch and most of our dinners. |
 |
Precious, precious Mr. Shui treated us to an incredible meal, led us through pre-dinner Tai Chi relaxation exercises, and gave a short "lecture" sharing Rugao's secrets for longevity: family, exercise, farm to table food, and diligence. He is not a centenarian yet, but will most certainly become one! |

Fresh cucumber juice |

We did not order the "Delicious Pot Head." Tee hee... |
 |
After we went on and on about the deliciousness of this tasty fried corn cake, it appeared at many of our school lunches and other dinners out on the town. Yum! |
 |
cute AND tasty |

not cute AND not tasty |

Dessert - another reason for Rugao's (and all of China, for that matter) longevity? |

Real coffee - Jamaican Blue Mountain, of all things! |
Friday, July 12th - Anna took us to her favorite restaurant. The tastiest thing? Fried bullfrog with lotus root, no kidding! Crispy, spicy goodness!
 |
An endless stream of some of the most delicious food to date |
